North Cyprus, also known as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a Mediterranean island recognized only by Turkey and is located in the northern part of the island of Cyprus.

 

 

Its population is around 400, 000 people and It comprises 6 districts, which are: Nicosia, Kyrenia, Famagusta, Guzelyurt, iskele, and Lefke. Nicosia is considered to be the largest city and also the Island’s capital. The Island is known for its culture, historical landmarks, vast vegetation as well as its scenic panoramic views that have become the island’s popular tourist attraction. With the crime rates being relatively low, North Cyprus is considered to be one of the safest places to visit and reside for both local and international counterparts.


Turkish is the official language that is spoken in North Cyprus and the local currency predominantly used is the Turkish Lira. Although there are different religious cultures that exist, Islam is the dominant religion. North Cyprus’s environment has cultivated an influx in the education system seeing a majority of international students furthering their tertiary education in the many universities that exist. This boost has seen a shift in the diversity of cultures.
