According to Yeniduzen, there is a struggle related to choosing a manager for kyrenia harbour.The mayor of Kyrenia, Murat Şenkul, said that “since this local government will last longer than the national one, the municipality must have control over Kyrenia harbor . He also said management of the old harbor had always been in the local municipality hands. “The municipal administration will serve for at least four years without interruption”. said Şenkul.He said, lots of money which was spent on the port will be thrown away, and the businesses in the port will have been closed all this time for nothing if this is not done.“We would like to inform everyone that we will not allow this port of great value to come to the point where it serves the political interests of others“. said Aktunç
